Rainforest and Crusoe
Arrived at the ‘Pinnacle’, Wonga Beach on Wednesday about 5. Set up the full camp followed by a gorgeous meal – me fresh bugs and banana prawns purchased in Cardwell and fresh from the trawler this morning cooked in ginger and garlic with a Caesar salad, P steak. We wandered over to the camp kitchen to watch ‘the game’ – Queensland took it out despite defence from NSW worthy of the Knights Watch on the Wall.
Up and down to the beach to witness the most beautiful sunrise, illuminating the palms and shining light on the sands. Hazy islands silhouetted with a cruise ship shiny and bright out to sea. A pelican and a heron sat together and tried to catch jumping fish. The heron clearly had practiced. The beach meets the coral when the tide is out and stretches for miles – a truly Robinson Crusoe…
