The Retired Athletes Association: Part 1

“Welcome to the Retired Athletes Association! Sit down and have a beer. Tell us about some of your legendary high school athletic achievements. Maybe later we can head over to the gym and get a few games of basketball in before dinner. Or maybe not. I’m kind of tired. Want to just watch Family Guy for a couple hours?”

This type of interaction epitomizes what the R.A.A. is. For those of you not familiar with this prestigious (but unofficial) organization, it is made up of former athletes who have all given up their respective sports. As a third year member of this wonderful group, I’ve described a little bit what it’s like in posts such as Life of the Retired Athlete: Intramurals.
