Young, Dumb, and Married

Last week, I sat there in the high school youth room as a high school youth leader and was questioned in front of all the other girls, “Do you actually think you are ready to get married? Do you know how demanding that is? Is that really what God would want for you?” I will not lie that I did not respond to her because I knew my words would come out much worse than intended.

My mother then felt the need to dissect every part of my decision, continuing to ask, “Why can you not just wait one year? That’s all I want is one year!” This went on for a good half hour as to why I should not marry young and what is truly wrong with me.
