Like a Dream

Awake and Alive

This is actually a poem I wrote in high school, but I miss creative writing and I’m trying to get back into it. Enjoy 🙂

A crafted chaos of colors call

Swirling sapphires surrounded by silver

Reddest rubies reaching and rising

Deep forest greens grace the ground

As pinks sail about in the ocean sky

Butterflies appear from a man’s cupped hands

The moon, a bright orb inhabiting the sky

As bats are darting and flitting about

The man takes your hand, then leads you off

Into his tent of magic and mystery

Where out of his hat pops a rabbit

Who gives you a wave, then poof, is gone

Lost in the reality of a brilliant fantasy

You ask to return to the carnival next year
